What is a Referring Travel Agent (RTA)

A Referring Travel Agent (RTA) is the term used by YTB to describe the person who has signed up for the online travel agency business. As a Referring Travel Agent, you simple refer people to your online travel website so they can book their travel. You are also an independent contractor of YTB.
As a RTA, you can send all of your friends, family, and even people you meet on a day to day basis to your own online travel site. Each time someone books their travel on your site, you will receive a commission of 60%.
The nice thing about being a RTA is that you can tailor your responsibilities to the extent that you want your home based business to be. If you love travel, you may want to learn about various travel destinations. YTB offers free classes through an online travel university. There you can learn about different travel destinations and even receive a diploma after passing an online test. This way, you can offer your clients different vacation choices if they are uncertain as to where they would like to travel.
If you do not have the extra time or if you chose not to be that much involved in your clients travel plans, you can simply refer them to your online travel agency and allow them to book their travel with you on their own time and under their own terms. If at any time your clients run into any trouble booking their travel, they can either contact you for help or they can call the customer service number with YTB.
Being a YTB Referring Travel Agent is not only fun but a rewarding home based business.
